Major Update (0.4)


- Introduced Archetypes

The introduction of Archetypes changed countless things from the alpha version of the game. The biggest changes were wrapping some loose mechanics (Reputation and the Drone) into Archetypal Abilities for the new character system.

- Characters now get a primary combat skill separate from their 6 skill limit.

- Added a handheld mortar so cannoneer skill has a use in ground combat, but this skill still needs work.

- Introduced Citizenships

Citizenship provides characters with bonuses to certain skills, much like races in other TTRPGs.

- Introduced Tricks

This mechanic allows for progression and growth of characters without the need for XP or pre-defined levels.

- Tweaked combat rules so that weapon attacks can crit in two ways. A standard critical success on the skill check means the defender doesn't get a Reaction. A critical hit on the damage roll means you double damage. These can happen independently of each other.

- Changed movement in combat rules so you can move a certain amount for free, and a longer distance if you want to sacrifice your action.

- Added base unarmed damage to weapons list.

-Clarified wording in some places, fixed misc. typos and grammatical errors

- Created character sheets

- Overhauled handbook with a brand new design

- Wrote Atlas (currently named Setting Guide)

The Atlas is currently using the D&D 5e document design that was being used internally. The next update will include this document being moved to the new style.
